Summary
Responsible for ensuring that all service associates receive educational opportunities as needed. Provides and assists with training needs, new products and initiatives. Collaborates with the Vice President of Capital, Regional Service Managers, Regional Training Managers, Operations Managers (OM) and Vice President, Operations (VPO) to conduct needs analyses for the region, responds to specific needs with training and ensures consistency in regional educational programming.
Job Description
- Works with Vice President of Regional Services, Vice President, Training to achieve Archstone’s operational and financial goals.
- Coordinates and/or delivers Archstone’s educational programming to site associates.
- Trains and rolls out new corporate initiatives to corporate and site associates.
- Ensures all service associates utilize the Service Training SharePoint Site as applicable to their job function.
- Ensures all Community Managers (CM), qualified Assistant Managers and Resident Service Managers participate in the Operations Training program.
- Ensures all new OMs to Archstone participate in applicable training programs.
- Collaborates with the Regional Service Manager to ensure the Safety Program and mandatory Maintenance related training delivery at the sites.
- Ensures quality standards are maintained at the local Training Community Centers.
- Coordinates and/or conducts Service, Computer and Management refresher courses in each major city within the region.
- Coordinates the delivery of maintenance services training.
- Ensures all programming is consistent with Archstone’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard of Excellence operating manuals.
- Assists VPO and OMs with agenda and meeting arrangements for Operations Managers, Community Managers and Service Managers throughout the year.
- Coordinates in consultation with the VPO and OMs on all awards programs conducted in the region, specifically Circle of Excellence events.
- Participates in the design, development and delivery of career development plans for site associates.
- Builds success skill sets for associates in their current positions and for advancement opportunities.
- Conducts and coordinates training programs to fit the specific needs of individual properties such as in-house classes/workshops or on-demand training.
- Develops and distributes regional monthly and quarterly training schedules.
- Provides support and one-on-one consulting/training as requested by VPO or OMs.
- Provides transition assistance and assists with specific training needs.
- Conducts training for Lease Up properties and works closely with the Community Managers to ensure success.
- Works closely with OMs to ensure property audit compliance.
- Partners with the Vice President of Regional Services, Vice President, Training to ensure Standards of Excellence are met and operating manuals are current.
- Reports departments’ performance on a quarterly basis to the VPO/OM.
- Maintains an accurate tracking system across the West Region to account for training received and ensures compliance of mandatory service training.
- Partners with each portfolio Training Manager to ensure service training is updated and calendared with each portfolio.
- Responsible for communicating organizational service priorities and company culture through a variety of means; including written and in person.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- On-site property management or hospitality experience preferred.
- Formal training experience or training expertise.
- Strong coordination, organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrated classroom presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Intermediate MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
- 2000/Windows XP, MRI and other web-based software application skills.
- HVAC and CPO Certifications preferred.
- Ability to travel frequently.
