Position description

DRAMATIC LITERATURE LECTURER SEARCH

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE -
CLAIRE TREVOR SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, DEPARTMENT OF DRAMA

The Department of Drama is establishing a search for qualified applicants for a position as part-time lecturer for Fall Quarter 2024, Winter Quarter 2025, and Spring Quarter 2025 in the curriculum area of dramatic literature.
The department seeks applicants to teach an upper division undergraduate level course in contemporary theater and culture in each quarter. Although the department will consider applications in all areas, our preference is for courses in Queer Theory, Latinx Studies, and/or Indigenous Studies. A PhD degree in Dramatic Arts/Theatre Arts is required. Compensation for each quarter will be approximately $7,200.00 total and is non-negotiable.

Candidates for this position must show strong experience in teaching dramatic literature and working with a diverse student population in a university environment. Experience in teaching students on writing research papers is also required. Candidates must demonstrate an excellent research and teaching profile in the field of dramatic literature.
