Job Description

As the Vice President of Engineering Quality at DDN Storage, you will be responsible for driving the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance across the company's industry-leading AI and high-performance storage solutions, with a specific focus on software quality and end-to-end system testing. You will lead a talented team of software engineers, quality assurance professionals, and system validation experts, develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies and methodologies, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that DDN Storage's products consistently deliver optimal performance and reliability in both data center and cloud deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

    Develop and execute a robust software quality and system testing strategy that spans the entire product lifecycle, from design and development to integration, validation, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Build and lead a high-performing software quality and system testing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer-centricity that aligns with DDN Storage's values and engineering philosophy.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, product management, and operations teams to define and implement comprehensive software testing processes, tools, and metrics that drive the development of high-quality, reliable, and performant storage software solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies in areas such as automated software testing, continuous integration and delivery, performance profiling, and software reliability engineering.
  • Oversee the design and execution of rigorous system-level testing and validation strategies, including end-to-end functional testing, performance benchmarking, stress testing, and failure mode analysis, to ensure that DDN Storage's solutions deliver optimal results in real-world data center and cloud environments.
  • Work closely with customer support, field operations, and cloud operations teams to monitor and analyze software and system performance in live deployments, and use these insights to drive continuous improvement and proactive issue resolution.
  • Serve as a technical expert and thought leader in software quality and system testing, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies and sharing knowledge and best practices with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and track key software quality and system performance metrics and KPIs, and provide regular updates and insights to inform strategic decision-making and drive organizational alignment around quality objectives.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in software quality and system testing roles, with a proven track record of success in the storage, AI, or HPC industry.
  • Deep technical expertise in software testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks, as well as system-level testing and validation approaches for data center and cloud environments.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale high-performing software quality and system testing teams, with a focus on mentoring, coaching, and driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to dive deep into complex software and system issues and drive root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Strong experience in developing and implementing software quality processes, methodologies, and tools, with a deep understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of driving significant improvements in software quality, system reliability, and customer satisfaction in the enterprise technology space, with a focus on storage, AI, or HPC solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
