Job Description
Quality Technician

The Quality Technician performs basic quality techniques (inspection and audits) to track, analyze and report on materials, processes, and products to ensure they conform to the company's quality standards, and are involved in the calibration of tools and equipment.
The Compensation range for this role is $58,500-$68,000 per annum based on experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Use standard hand-measuring instruments (i.e. micrometer, bore gauge, calipers, height gauge, etc.)
  • Verify parts by carrying out dimensional, functional, data review and visual inspections
  • Support CMM machine/ programming with software using CAD models and/or engineering drawings
  • Executes and assures compliance with quality procedures, practices and inspection processes
  • Interacts with Quality, GSC, manufacturing and Test team members to determine root cause of quality issues and ensures that corrective and preventive action is implemented
  • Evaluates hardware, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data
  • Prepares and reads inspection control plans, interpreting specifications, drawings, BOM, standards and tolerances in a GD&T environment
  • Supports and conducts measurement systems analysis with the use of gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies
  • Supports 5s and housekeeping

  • Skills in basic math, basic statistics, variation and control charts
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to express ideas in individual and group settings and work collaboratively in a team
  • Proven mentoring and training skills
 Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in engineering or similar. Certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician is a plus, Zeiss Calypso certification is a plus
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing/inspection environment
  • Available to work first shift, flexibility is a plus
