JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Corporate Accounting! The Director of Corporate Accounting is an integral member of the West Coast Corporate division. This Director of Corporate Accounting will be responsible for the West Coast Corporate division general ledger and will guide the accounting team to complete the monthly and quarterly close processes including review and approval of all journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and balance sheet roll forwards. The Director of Corporate Accounting is required to work independently and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and within established due dates. The Director will also liaise and coordinate with other Accounting and Finance teams for all accounting related items. It is the responsibility of the Director to enforce the company's accounting policies and will need to have a solid command/understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Additionally, the Director will support the preparation of financial statements including cash flow. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Corporate Accounting & Finance and will be responsible for managing a small team.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct day-to-day activity of accounting staff including managing the preparation, review, and approval of all journal entries and ensuring proper supporting documentation is attached
  • Manage the processing of all accounts payables and receivables, reviewing coding and providing support for approval workflow
  • Manage account reconciliation process including reviewing/approving and presentation to upper management
  • Partner with the FP&A team to accrue expenses and address misclassifications
  • Review and provide support for financial statement variances and balance sheet analysis
  • Be a business partner to other divisions in all areas of accounting (including but not limited to invoice processing, coding, intercompany revenue/expenses, allocations, expense reports)
  • Support the payroll and benefit accounting areas which consolidate with the corporate ledger
  • Perform research on issues and requests for tax and audit purposes and provide supporting documentation as necessary
  • Work with external audit to explain policies and procedures and provide requested documentation and evidence
  • Ensure compliance of effective internal controls in accordance with SOX audit program
  • Provide accounting and financial guidance and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with the organization's strategic goals
  • Maintain and update systems and processes
  • Ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field
  • 8+ years related experience in accounting and finance
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the aptitude to communicate with all levels of management
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability, and results-oriented
  • Leadership experience managing, developing, and training staff
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented, and meets time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $121,000.00-200,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
