What You'll Do:

Lead a Team. Perform a variety of duties associated with managing the business side of the Riverside Central Services organization with additional responsibility to support the entire division.

Manage Timecards and Trends. Ensure employee timecards are accurate in Kronos, coded to the correct cost centers, and approved in a timely manner. Bring trends/concerns to management to include cost variances, attendance tracking (absences, tardies, etc.), actual labor expense compared to production plan/schedule, etc.

Ensure System Updates. Assume responsibility for timely and accurate system updates, including equipment maintenance, procurement purchasing systems, safety and environmental reporting (Gensuite), fuel and critical spare inventory reconciliation, and Castrol LabCheck for equipment oil sampling.

Monitor Financial Reports. Analyze financial reports and research variances and identifies solutions. Assist in the development of budgets, including performing entry and validation in the budget system (PBS) Tracks spending vs. budget and projections throughout the month.

Procure Materials. Purchase parts, supplies, and equipment as required to support planned activities. Match bills of lading with invoice.

Schedule Work Orders. Generate and distribute maintenance work orders as needed. Coordinates the delivery of parts and supplies to support the maintenance and repair schedule. Informs management of overdue maintenance activities.

Other duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education. An associate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience, is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Experience. Previous industry experience in mining or manufacturing is preferred.

License. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to legally and safely operate a motor vehicle.

Operational Knowledge. Previous bookkeeping/accounting experience with an understanding of basic accounting principles, month-end statements, and cost structures is required. Previous manufacturing and cost accounting experience is preferred.

Functional Knowledge. Must have an understanding of business planning and financial forecasting requirements.

Problem-Solving Skills. Strong analytical skills. Effectively manages multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with good organizational skills and excellent problem-solving practices.

Communication Skills. Customer service-oriented, with strong verbal and written communication along with strong conflict resolution skills. Must represent Vulcan in a professional manner to all customers, vendors, and internal employees.

Adaptability. Ability to adapt well to new processes and procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.

Technology Skills. Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology and demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Google (Gmail, Docs, and Sheets), and other software packages relevant to the position.

* May have to do bending and reaching to file materials

* Must have the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Salary Range. The base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $110,000 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
