Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Grant

Work Schedule: This is a part-time, non-benefitted, non-exempt position; up to 29 hours/week; Monday - Friday, hours to be determined. This a temporary appointment ending on or before August 31, 2025, with the possibility for renewal, contingent upon the availability of funds.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of the PI, the Research Associate is responsible for maintaining a database structure and system that effectively and efficiently supports data collection. The project involves the exploration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for faculty, staff, and students at a university campus. The Research Associate is responsible for implementing research protocols; adapting new procedures and methods relative to research procedures; collecting, preparing, and analyzing research data; documenting and summarizing findings and recording research data; publishing innovative research in high-level peer-reviewed leading technical journals; presenting research at conferences; and training of students and volunteer workers.

Requirements: The Research Associate must have a master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Science or a closely related science, business, psychology, or anthropology field. The Research Associate must have qualitative and quantitative research experience using instruments and data analysis such as Excel and N-Vivo. The Research Associate must also have a record of independent research.

Desired Qualifications: Experience in managing different research projects that use different methods. Independent and organized individual experienced in working with teams collaboratively and effectively. A cooperative individual who can propel a research project to completion.

The Research Associate must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
