The RoleYou will provide rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population, ensuring that clients and staff have what they need to follow the lead of the Clinical Directorand Program Director.We're well organized and there is always someone to reach out to for support, should you need it.Each shift will include general activities (i.e., waking clients, providing hygiene baskets, monitoring from a distance, doing chores, ensuring meds are taken, etc.).
Beachside Teen Treatment Center is a tranquil, rehabilitation haven for adolescents struggling with addiction, substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our beautiful residential facility is based in Malibu, California, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Embodying the key principles of mind-body health, our individualized and diverse treatment plans provide wholesome healing in a mostly unplugged and small group environment. Beachsideis part ofCentered Health, which operates a diverse network of behavioral health treatment centers ensuring that clients receive individualized comprehensive care in the most appropriate setting. - Expand your skillsin mental health treatment; this is a great job if you are working on a degree in the field.
- Gain strong experience in a small group environment. We are committed to providing outstanding care and limit the number of clients we serve to no more than six at a time.
- Enjoy the environment of ourbeautiful, moderntreatment centerin a serene, Malibu setting, while also doing the important work of helping kids heal and lead fulfilling lives.
- Interact directly with the clients, providing supervision and support.
- Enjoy free coffee and snacks, and great training while earning acompetitive wage.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in the social services field(group home, childcare, medical assistant, etc.). We may also consider candidates with college coursework in psychology, social science or similar.
- A genuine desire to work with adolescents.
- An understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures for mental health disorders with co-occurring substance abuse issues.
- Knowledge of regulations concerning mental health treatment.
- Working knowledge of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and treatment procedures for such illnesses.
- Good judgment, a positive attitude, dependability and confidentiality
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Internet, email, and MS Word.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
