Under the direct supervision of the Bowyer Treatment and Oncology Center Director and Practice Manager, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for organizing aspects of clinic operations and projects as assigned. The incumbent will apply acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to manage their assignments, coordinate work with teammates, and exercise judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. Operations Coordinators monitor daily activities including clerical activities, authorizations, scheduling, and referral coordination. In addition, the incumbent is expected to support the Practice Manager and Director in overseeing staff performance by ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, completing audits, training new administrative staff, and being a resource for staff when patients have complaints, or when complex questions arise in clinic. Incumbent provides coverage for staff absences.

Salary Range: $25.95-$54.50/hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • At least two years scheduling or authorization experience
  • Previous demonstrated leadership experience in a busy, complex outpatient setting
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify pattern and formulate conclusions
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, providers, and fellows from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal situations
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multi-specialty setting into a productive working environment
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health
  • Ability to work overtime in cases of emergency
Preferred:
  • At least one year of oncology experience
  • Knowledge to schedule patient appointments and encounter patients using CareConnect/EPIC
  • Working knowledge of research-oriented patient care systems
  • Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering, risk management and personnel
