Job Description

As the Lead Layout Designer, you will work closely with semiconductor design engineers in the layout and verification of RF, analog and mixed signal integrated circuits for wireless consumer electronic products.
Position requires remote interfacing with domestic and international design engineering and layout teams, in multiple design centers, across multiple time zones. Position is available at the Irvine, CA design center.

This position is required to work on-site, 5 days per week.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 6years of experience in the layout of integrated circuits including the ability to place and route active and passive devices. Previous experience in the layout of LNAs preferred.
  • Previous team leadership role required.
  • Able to plan the placement of major circuit components in an overall physical design.
  • Top level integration experience is also required.
  • Previous experience in the preparation of layout data for release to foundry preferred
  • Possess understanding of semiconductor processes like GaAs HBT and BiFET, CMOS and SOI processes and how the physical layout can affect circuit performance of circuits like power amplifiers and switches.
  • Proven ability to perform layout vs. schematic (LVS) and design rule checks using the Calibre verification tool and read electrical schematics and netlists.
  • Proven experience and competent in using the following tools: Cadence and Calibre.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • A self-starter and team player with ability to learn on the job
  • Good mentoring skills
  • Bachelor's degree a plus

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$110,600 -$210,600per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
