Acara Solutions is seeking a Lead Machinist Operator / Programmer to work at our client site in Valencia, CA. Our Valencia site manufactures customized, fractional electric DC motors for industrial, aerospace, and commercial customers.

Our client is a Fortune 500 company which is a leading global provider of mission-critical products and services to customers in the bio-pharma, healthcare, education & government, and advanced technologies & applied materials industries.

Here's what you'll do:

A machinist with working knowledge and experience programming CNC machines using Mastercam software, as well as setting up and operating such machines in a fast-paced, mid-volume, manual production, manufacturing environment. This role involves working with CNC and manual lathes, mills, drills, and executing machine shop activities. This position also supports manufacturing, fabrication and assembly areas as needed. Dependable in areas of attendance, positive attitude, teamwork, quality, and work pace under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Program CNC machines HAAS ST 20, Fadal WMC4020, and Akira-Seiki SL20 using latest version of Mastercam software.
Train other machinists and production associates on machine operations and setup.
Set up and operate CNC HAAS ST 20, Fadal WMC4020, and Akira-Seiki SL20.
Set up and operate conventional vertical milling machines such as Bridgeport and Tree.
Set up and operate convention engine lathes such as Hardinge and Yam.
Set up and operate surface grinders and drilling machines.
Set up and operate CNC Hardinge lathe HLV-H.
Design and make custom tooling needed for machine setups or to fabricate parts.
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls.
Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans.
Work with Engineering and Production to optimize designs.
Adhere to production schedules.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and implement efficiencies when possible.
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, quality, and good housekeeping practices.

Here's what you'll get:

Wage: $28-$30/hr. DOE

Normal hours are: 1st shift 5:30am - 2:00pm (Mon-Fri)

Required Skills / Qualifications:

At least 2 years of CNC programming experience with Mastercam software.
At least 3 years of CNC and manual machining experience
At least 1 year experience with AutoCAD software.
At least a High School diploma or GED

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

Time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.

Brake Press and punch press operations and programming
Operating shears and other fabrication equipment

May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and parts containers
Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
