Acara Solutions is seeking Machinists to work at our client site in Valencia, CA.
Our Valencia site manufactures customized, fractional electric DC motors for industrial, aerospace, and commercial customers.

Here's what you'll do:
A general machinist with working knowledge and experience in a fast-paced, mid-volume, manual production, manufacturing environment. This role involves working with manual lathes, mills, drills, and executing machine shop activities. This position also supports manufacturing, fabrication and assembly areas as needed. Dependable in areas of attendance, positive attitude, teamwork, quality, and work pace under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate conventional vertical milling machines such as Bridgeport and Tree.
  • Set up and operate convention engine lathes such as Handinge and Yam.
  • Set up and operate surface grinders and drilling machines.
  • Set up and operate CNC Hardinge lathe HLV-H.
  • Design and make custom tooling needed for machine setups or to fabricate parts.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls.
  • Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans.
  • Work with Engineering and Production to optimize designs.
  • Adhere to production schedules.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and implement efficiencies when possible
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, quality and good housekeeping practices
Here's what you'll get:
Wage: $20-$24/hr. DOE
Normal hours are: 1st shift 5:30am - 2:30pm (Mon-Fri)

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of machining experience, some CNC machining preferred.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Positive attitude, teamwork, and work under pressure
  • Strong math, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Team focused and open to learning new skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Brake Press and punch press operations and programming
  • Operating shears and other fabrication equipment
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • May be required to lift up to 45 pounds
  • May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
