SUMMARY

Hallmark Media is looking for a VP, Product to lead the Product organization.

Reporting to the EVP, Digital & Streaming Platforms, you will be responsible for defining the overarching Product Strategy and Roadmap for Hallmark Media's Digital Subscription services to ensure the success of the overarching business vision, goals, and objectives.

You will hire, manage, develop, and retain a senior team of product leaders. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, internal technology teams, and external vendor partners to successfully define, design, and deliver a portfolio of initiatives that delight subscribers and drive business impact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap - Define end-to-end product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the new features and experiences in support of the streaming service, identifying and balancing business opportunities, subscriber needs, budget constraints and technology constraints/capabilities, all laddering up to drive subscriber engagement, Lifetime Value, and business effectiveness.
  • Oversee Product Portfolio - Lead the teams responsible for delivering the Product Roadmap, including subscriber experience, business enablers, and technical platforms. Ensure clarity and alignment on priorities, efficient and effective collaboration, communication, and delivery.
  • Executive Management - Collaborate with key executive stakeholders, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clearly articulated and aligned vision and roadmap. Understand and communicate interdependencies between Product and the rest of the business areas, and ensure alignment.
  • Organizational Strategy - Define team structure, needs, culture and accountability to effectively deliver business impact. Hire and lead team of Product leaders, overseeing planning and execution of strategic initiatives, while retaining and developing key talent.
  • Process Development - Define and adopt clear ways of working, including processes, templates and tools to deliver effectively and consistently across projects, teams and platforms.
  • Vendor Management - Collaborate effectively with internal and external development partners to ensure appropriate sizing, scoping and delivery of key initiatives to achieve business impact.
  • Impact Assessment - Define metrics for success and measure impact of Product Roadmap on the business goals.
  • Budget - Own and manage the product budget including allocations from other departments.
  • Thought Leadership - Understand the competitive landscape and be a thought leader by innovating on new features and experiences to drive engagement, retention and new subscriber acquisition strategies.
  • Compliance - Align closely with Legal to ensure compliance as needed.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of hiring and developing Product Directors/Leaders, plus practical organizational planning and process skills (>5-7 years management experience and >1-3 years of senior leadership experience).
  • Demonstrated Product Strategy skills, with experience prioritizing, leading and delivering a broad portfolio of customer-facing experiences, tech platforms and business tools that drive customer adoption and business impact.
  • Deep understanding of the HMN subscriber and the Hallmark Media customer target, with an ability to identify and articulate opportunities, plus experience in the SVOD industry, with understanding of the technical and client experience differences between web, apps, TV platforms.

  • Expertise with agile, understanding not just the flow of the process, but the rhythm, focus and collaboration it provides.

The salary range for this job is between $232,300-$331,800 annually. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
