With a significant presence in California, we're looking to welcomean in house resident engineer to our South West Division. Joining our Los Angeles office, the successful in house resident engineer will join our ever-expanding water team here in the southern California Area. We are currently looking for a resident engineer with construction experience in the water industry.
Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:
- Good understanding of the construction industry in the Los Angeles Metro Area and experience working on public agency projects
- Proven record of supervising a construction inspection staff for water infrastructure. This position entails all typical duties of a resident engineer with an inspection/office engineering staff
- Planning, organizing, and supervision of engineering and construction inspection activities for major water projects
- Serve as the senior representative for the inspection of contractor construction activities, payments, processing and negotiation of claims and change orders
- Supervise a staff of personnel consisting of engineers, inspectors, project control, office engineers, project administrators, and specialty sub-consultants
- Lead progress meetings and interacts with client on a daily basis
- Coordinate responses to RFI's and other technical issues with design engineers
- Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts
The successful candidate will require the following:
- Previous Resident Engineering experience working with public agencies
- Should have experience with overseeing heavy civil projects
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience inwater infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- If required, willing to work weekends and extended hours as necessary to properly oversee the project
- Bachelor's Degree in civil/mechanical engineering or equivalent
Preferred Certification:
- Professional Engineering License or CCM in California
Salary Range: $72/hr-$95/hr
