Job Description

Working in either the Pasadena, or Orange California office our Construction Management Advisor (CMA) is responsible for overseeing ENGIE's construction sites and subcontractors. They will provide a baseline/milestone/look-ahead schedule, ensure site safety practices, and uphold all quality assurance/control measures that are provided for the installations.

Projects include but are not limited to a combination of energy conservation measures (ECM) and renewable generation projects such as Photovoltaic Solar, Battery Energy Storage, high-efficiency HVAC, Energy Management Systems (EMS), high-efficiency transformers, LED lighting, lighting control systems. Projects generally include some civil and general construction work. The CMA will assist the Program Management Team during the contract development and engineering design phases of such projects. The CMA will work closely with Project Management Advisors during the project execution phase to lead all aspects of delivering the project to our clients. As part of that leadership role, the CMA will interface daily with our clients and should have the ability to communicate professionally.

What you'll do:

  • Oversees the construction of energy and water related customer improvements (such as solar PV, energy storage, LED lighting retrofits, HVAC/control upgrades, water fixture and water meter retrofits, and SCADA upgrades)
  • Provides field input to assist Project Manager with generating, tracking, and reporting of schedule and budget performance during the construction phase (including change request reviews) and assists communicating schedule to Customer; supports Program Management team with cost estimation and scheduling for projects in development/design
  • Prepares and executes Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans
  • Ensures construction conforms to civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & controls drawings, specifications, and all other relevant codes
  • Provides constructability review of scopes during development and of subcontractor plans during implementation, determining if special operator access or maintenance provisions are required, reviewing Methods of Procedure plans and traffic control plans as needed
  • Coordinates with Project Engineer for technical consult and QA/QC inspections
  • Leads the punch list process between substantial and final completion; leads the project turnover from construction through commissioning to operations; helps project team obtain closeout documentation
  • Manages customer requirements for site access and security for contractors (including keys/alarms); works with customer sites' schedules/constraints to minimize construction impact to building occupants
  • Oversees AHJ, utility and special inspections to ensure project receives all necessary permit signoffs, coordinating with Project Manager and Project Engineer as needed and managing outage requests with customers and utilities
  • Documents project progress in Procore, including site photos, incident reports, safety documents, and daily logs and rosters, supporting the Labor Compliance Team as needed

What you bring:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years' experience in relatable field
  • Technical experience/training with electrical, mechanical, lighting projects
  • Scheduling with Microsoft Project or other software
  • Experience working with Project Inspectors and field Engineers
  • Ability to adhere to the highest safety standards
  • Mastery of problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other's ideas and viewpoints and resolving team conflict situations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met
  • Experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) to be able to engage with all stakeholders including contractors and government agencies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) and Procore
  • OSHA 30 certification

  • Must be available to travel up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
  • Could involve some lifting
  • Ability to climb ladders, traverse open terrain, walk, bend, stoop etc
  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • Position requires combination of office environment setting and some exposure to outdoor environments
    • Sitting and standing for periods of time, limited amount of climbing and crawling could be required in some circumstances
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to weather conditions
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • Salary Range: $108,700.00 - $167,440.00 USD, annually
  • Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
