The Department of Medicine is seeking to hire an External Facilitator for the research project "Eliminating Hypertension Disparities in LA County." In this role, you will support primary care clinics in delivering equitable hypertension care for patients and communities. Your role will focus on increasing the delivery of hypertension best practices through engaging with patients, providers & care teams, or both audiences. In-depth training in facilitation skills and foundational knowledge in hypertension best practices will be provided to all facilitators. You will collaborate with an Internal Facilitator, working under project managers and principal investigators. Responsibilities include facilitating activities, documentation, and communication, with regular travel to clinics. Training in facilitation and hypertension best practices will be provided. You will provide organization, direction, and problem-solving support for facilitation activities, and will be responsible for leading documentation of those activities and supporting communication between the Internal Facilitator and study team members. Regular travel to assigned clinics will be required to fully engage and build relationships with providers, care teams, and other personnel.The position will require obtaining credentials from LAC DHS by passing a background check and health clearance. Target annual rate: $71,500-$154,900
Qualifications

REQUIRED: * Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to develop systems to track complex collaborative work tasks and solve problems efficiently. * Strong verbal and written communication skills with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including ability to adapt communication style to different audiences (e.g., patients, medical providers, support staff at clinic sites). * Ability to take initiative and follow through independently on projects. * Ability to maintain confidentiality with participant-related and patient-related data. * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, faculty, and community partners. * Ability to meet short deadlines and urgent requests efficiently and accurately. * Ability to seek appropriate staff and other resources when questions arise. PREFERRED: * Master's degree preferred plus 1-3 years of related experience in a health care, research, or educational environment. * Excellent Microsoft Excel skills * Previous experience working with or in a clinical setting * Experience with database management. * Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, policies or procedures to define the problem, need or objective, identify relevant issues or concerns, formulate alternatives for resolution or new program development, and recommend alternative choices and implications for implementation. * Experience in utilizing health services research techniques in collection and analysis of data.
