Facilities Engineering & Planning, at the Aerojet Rocketdyne Los Angeles Site, is looking to hire a Professional (PE) Electrical Engineer with experience in Engineering and Design for the installation and modifications of Manufacturing, Process and Lab equipment, Office Areas, HVAC & Control systems, Electrical distribution, Emergency Power and Green Energy systems, Alarms, Public Address.
In addition, experience in managing facilities projects for Electrical and/or Manufacturing & Process equipment installations and Facility modifications is highly preferred.

30% - Lead and support Facilities Projects in the development of Electrical Engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates for Equipment Acquisitions, Facility renovations, and Construction projects.
10% - Interface with A&E firms and Construction Contractors
20% - Review and approve construction documents and contractor submittals
10% - Maintain as-built drawings and records
10% - Interpret and apply codes
20% - Support Maintenance staff in trouble shooting and technical issues as required.
Manage facilities projects: including internal customer interface, external contractor interface, leading Project Teams, developing project scope, schedule, cost, generating and reviewing/approving work authorizations and invoices for payment
BS Electrical Engineering and 9+ years related experience or an equivalent combination.
Knowledgeable of NEC and other applicable Electrical Building codes
Knowledgeable of applicable industry standards (UL, Title 24, Lighting Standards, etc)
Arc-flash power systems studies highly desirable
California State Licensed Professional Engineer - Electrical Engineering
Proficient in AutoCad, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, & MS Project
Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps). While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels, partiluate and fumes. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hardhats, safety shoes, hearing protetion, and shop coat. Will also be required to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. Some employees may be required to drive between various locations within the Company facility or between locations. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. This position will be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
