Salary Range: $52,500 - $87,500

Summary

Execute purchasing of large equipment, parts, materials, and tools required to support large customer Construction projects. Coordinate with Construction and Engineering to plan requirements, negotiate price, delivery timing and generate purchase orders to vendors. Assist in sourcing project as assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinate with Engineering and Construction in compiling information and records to prepare purchase orders, develop summary reports and keep records of items purchased or transferred between entities, prices, deliveries, and inventories.

Adhere to proper buying procedures and controls to ensure strict compliance with procurement contracts and agreements. This will include creating purchase orders and coordinating large equipment planning for construction projects.

Review, compare and negotiate prices, confirm correct specifications, and timely delivery dates to ensure construction project timelines and revenue recognition are met.

Assess and control inventory and project spend to realize bulk cost savings and efficiency opportunities.

Measure, assess, summarize, and control supplier performance to anticipate and resolve potential delay of project milestones or project cost escalation.

Prepare invitation of bid forms and send to the appropriate large equipment suppliers.

Take a leadership role to manage and plan for items that have a long lead time, supply chain disruption, such as major capital equipment, electrical controls, storage, dispensers, etc.

Support the implementation of systems, policies, metrics, and procedures consistent with those of the company to ensure safe, ethical, and effective daily operations.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree, plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities Desired

Deep knowledge and experience with the type of items being ordered - station equipment, electrical and mechanical components, piping, and construction materials.

Solid firsthand experience in cradle-to-grave project-based procurement, including expertise in procurement of both low volume/high value assets as well as high volume commodity items.

Experience in coordination of logistics and supporting RFP development, proposal evaluation, and bid analysis.

Proven negotiation skills; excellent analytical skills.

Robust attention to detail and a history of accuracy.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and to work in a fast-paced environment, while at the same time making sound decisions.

Strong and effective communication and documentation skills with the ability to work across departments and levels.

The ability to work with autonomy and as part of the team and perform under deadline pressure.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong experience with Excel. Microsoft Dynamics D365 ERP software experience desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CPM preferred.
