This System Analyst opportunity is a hybrid role, with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Lake Mary, FL or Irvine, CA, office.

What the day will look like

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Operations business group within Health Solutions. As a Systems Analyst, you will report directly to the Director of System Delivery. Your day will involve fulfilling a variety of the responsibilities listed below.

  • Communicating: Corresponding and directly interacting with Clients, Brokers, Carriers, Vendors, Team Members, and IT colleagues to support enrollment projects, and research and resolve issues
  • Managing Data: Importing files using SQL and MS Access queries, code modules, and specs; exporting data to varied file and report types using provided specs
  • Coding: Using MS VBA to manipulate data and build files
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Testing enrollment systems and auditing files and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Tracking: Following up with Clients, Carriers, Vendors to ensure timely loading of the production data files provided
  • Resolving Issues: Working jointly with Team Members, and individually, to identify, track, and resolve, any discrepancies that occur throughout the data file's life cycle
  • Reporting: Assisting with and creating various ad hoc reports for internal or external users, as needed
  • Coordinating: Working closely with internal and external stakeholders as needed, to ensure proper development and implementation of program and system specifications
  • Research and Development: Handling any R&D related projects, when assigned
  • Learning: Opportunities to learn and grow within the team

How this opportunity is different

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your established technical skills as part of a larger client delivery team. In this exciting role, you will not only "do" but also consider the best way to deliver value to Aon, and our clients and carriers. You will become a technical subject matter expert on our systems and how they drive overall value and use that knowledge to consult on how to leverage our solutions. At the same time, you will have primary responsibility for data and system configuration. And while you lend your expertise to these conversations, you are also supported by a team of professionals on voluntary benefits, process, and architecture.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 1 plus years of experience with MS Access, with emphasis on working with databases, tables, queries, macros, reports, multi-table joins, SQL statements, built-in functions, and import/export capabilities
  • 1 plus years of experience with SQL and its querying functions
  • Advanced level proficiency with MS Excel
  • Applies critical thinking to complex problems that may arise from system builds and report analysis
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Excellent verbal, writing and listening skills and the ability to organize while balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn and describe capabilities, and requirements of proprietary enrollment system
  • Preferred: Comprehension of benefit plans and benefit systems
  • Preferred: Formal training with Visual Basic/VB.net

Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $55,000 to $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
