Job Description

PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES
Follow prescribed inspection methods and procedures to production planning documents, drawings, and other instructions, performs non-destructive testing of parts and material. Inspects product from all special processing operations. Performs receiving, in-process, and final inspection as required. Maintains logs of inspection activities and prepares reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES – other duties may be assigned
  1. Sets-up, adjusts, and operates mag particle and/or fluorescent penetrant equipment.
  2. Analyzes drawings, customer specifications, planning documents, and requirements to determine nondestructive testing process.
  3. Sets-up and calibrates nondestructive test equipment and selects proper machine settings, solutions, and cycle times.
  4. Processes and interprets mag. part, or penetrant results for conformance to customer specifications and requirements.
  5. Interprets test results, prepares reports, and stamps parts and material to reflect acceptance.
  6. Using inspection tools and gauges, performs final, in-process, and receiving inspection to determine conformance to specifications and planning documents.
  7. Perform inspection on product that has been processed through our special processing department to determine conformance to spec and planning documents, such as cadmium plate, chemical film, passivation, heat treat and anodize.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  1. Current Level II status for Magnetic Particle (MP) and Liquid Penetrant (PT). Must be able to provide formal certifications and supporting training records.
  2. Works under limited supervision.
  3. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and planning documents, and follow verbal instructions and prepare inspection reports.
  4. Must be able to use inspection and measuring tools & gauges.
  5. Must be able to prepare inspection reports and input data to computer.
  6. Must be able to perform the full range of nondestructive test procedures including difficult and complex mag part and fluorescent penetrant.
  7. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
  8. Proficient in spoken and written English
