Purpose:

As a Principal Project Planner at Worley, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the activities of schedulers, ensuring the accuracy of engineering and construction schedules, and fostering strong relationships across various functions within the company. Your leadership will be instrumental in presenting scheduling procedures to clients and providing guidance in the selection, appraisal, and training of planning/scheduling staff. Ultimately, you will contribute to Worley's mission of delivering sustainable change by efficiently managing project timelines and resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Scheduler Activities: Oversee and coordinate the activities of schedulers, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Schedule Accuracy Assessment: Take responsibility for assessing the accuracy of all engineering and construction schedules, identifying potential bottlenecks, and proposing solutions for optimization.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop rapport with clients and stakeholders by effectively presenting scheduling procedures and addressing any concerns or inquiries related to project timelines.
  • Leadership in Staff Development: Provide leadership in the selection, appraisal, and training of planning/scheduling staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Contribution to Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to Worley's strategic initiatives by leveraging your expertise in project planning and scheduling to drive efficiency and effectiveness across projects.
  • Technical Consultation: Serve as a technical expert in project planning and scheduling, providing consultation to internal teams and stakeholders on complex scheduling matters.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in a related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling, with a track record of success in coordinating multi-project activities.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in project planning and scheduling principles and practices, with the ability to assess schedule accuracy and identify optimization opportunities.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide guidance and direction to planning/scheduling staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Client Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders, effectively presenting scheduling procedures and addressing inquiries.
Analytical Abilities: Advanced analytical abilities with the capability to analyze complex data, identify patterns and trends, and draw conclusions to inform decision-making.
Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to contribute to strategic initiatives, aligning project planning activities with Worley's broader objectives and sustainability goals.
Technical Consultation: Recognized as a specialist in project planning and scheduling, providing consultation to internal teams and stakeholders on complex scheduling matters.
