Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu, Calabasas, Westlake Village and Camarillo; HRL has been on the leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and advancing the state of the art. 

HRL Laboratories, LLC is looking to hire an experienced candidate to transition RF & mmWave technologies from research & development into products such as active electronically scanned array (AESA) or Phased Arrays and electrically small receivers and transmitters.  This engineer will lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment or commercialization.

Essential Duties:
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners, including R&D, engineering, quality, vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies, to mature technologies into viable products. Contribute to the development of manufacturing processes and work with vendors to establish relationships. Provide hands-on support in the development of novel technologies throughout the entire product development lifecycle. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design verification activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Utilize your expertise in system engineering and RF systems development to contribute to design reviews, technology evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills: 
10+ years of proven experience in transitioning technology from research to product development within the RF, electronics, and/or defense industry 
Experience with manufacturing and integrated assembly of electronic components into DoD and/or commercial RF systems or payloads. 
Experience implementing system engineering principles and working with technical teams to ensure compliance with best practices. 
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Working knowledge of RF systems with an emphasis on commercial radar, military radar, cellular communication systems, SATCOM, and/or tactical communication systems.  
Thorough understanding of system engineering principles.  
Understanding of DoD missions and technology acquisition process
Familiarity with regulations and standards for military (MIL-STD) and RF hardware

Required Education: 
B.S. degree in engineering with a minimum 10 years of experience in product development 

Physical Requirements: 
Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, and customers, as well as perform detailed analyses of radar systems and components, and prepare written and oral presentations.
Ability to work well in a team and independently. Must be willing to travel and work in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects, and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $182,720 - $234,168 + bonus + benefits.
